Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized about becoming a reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in high school and then gaining commercial roles when she moved from the south of England to New York. She was cast as a young innocent in 1981's soap-opera All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actress who has been involved in numerous television dramas, and TV films. The professional life she has had is better than her personal life. The accomplished actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two marriages that failed. In 2005, she lost custody of her sole son.
